More Than a Stay: A Real Coliving Community in Tenerife

When people look for a coliving in Tenerife, they usually start with the practical things: good internet, a comfortable room and a place to work.

At Bencomo, all of that matters. But what many guests remember most is the people they meet.

Bencomo is a small coliving in the north of Tenerife, created by us, Ana and Adrián, two siblings born and raised on the island. We wanted to create a place where remote workers could work comfortably, meet people from different countries and experience Tenerife in a more local way.

Community that happens naturally

Over time, we’ve welcomed people from Germany, France, Lithuania, Israel, Argentina, Vietnam and many other places.

Everyone is different. Some love hiking and sports, others cooking, dancing, music or simply sharing a good conversation.

What usually brings them together is the same thing: they want more than just accommodation. They want to meet people, share experiences and feel part of a community while living and working remotely from Tenerife.

Because Bencomo only has five rooms, it’s easy for people to actually get to know each other. Shared dinners, spontaneous plans, hikes and conversations around the house become part of everyday life.

From Tenerife to Dubai

One story that represents this perfectly happened with two guests who met while staying at Bencomo.

They arrived separately, met here in Tenerife and became friends during their stay.

Later, after leaving the island and continuing with their own travels, they met again in Dubai.

For us, that says a lot about what coliving can create.

Sometimes the connections made during a few weeks in Tenerife continue long after people leave the house.

Working remotely from northern Tenerife

Bencomo is located in Santa Úrsula, in the greener and quieter north of Tenerife.

The house has a dedicated coworking area, high-speed fibre internet, shared living spaces, a fully equipped kitchen and areas to relax after work.

But Bencomo is also our way of sharing a little of the Tenerife we know. We love cooking, talking about our island and culture, spending time in nature and bringing people together.

You can have your normal work routine during the day and still finish the afternoon surrounded by mountains, ocean and a community of people from around the world.

Come for the remote work, stay for the people

You may come to Tenerife for the climate, nature and remote work lifestyle.

But you might leave remembering the people most.

That is the kind of community we want to keep building at Bencomo.
